BRIEF CHARACTER DESCRIPTION (PERSONALITY OR HISTORY): Emma comes from a very rich but very absent family. A former piano prodigy she fell deathly ill as a young child and found herself spending ample time at Princeton Plainsboro teaching hospital. It was there that she met Dr. House, Wilson, and others and was eventually diagnosed with Battens Disease. She became incredibly close with Wilson (who was almost like a father figure) she, as an adult, returned to the hospital as an intern in pediatrics - though House fought for her to be in Diagnostics and he believed curing "little humans to be a waste". It was during this time that she became even closer with the staff before having another Battens scare (not to mention being shot while walking with House). She also got into a nasty fight with one of James Wilson's girlfriends. Having to deal with all of that proved to be too much and she disappeared (transferring hospitals both for working and personal). She fell off the map. During that time her once boyfriend/fiance Lawrence Kutner committed suicide. It is upon learning this, and becoming an actual adult, that she has returned to the area.
